“The California Environmental Voters Education Fund is an essential partner for building grassroots community power in the fight for clean air and against climate change in historically excluded and divested communities like the Inland Empire.”
– Jean Kayano, People’s Collective for Environmental Justice (PC4EJ)

We’re building power at all levels.

California Environmental Voters Education Fund remains laser-focused on building power to effect change at all levels and scales, from youth in underserved regions to local, state, and federal policymakers.

We strive to educate elected leaders at all levels of government on critical environmental priorities, including:

  • Conserving natural resources and public lands
  • Cultivating champions
  • Shaping the public narrative on the environment and climate action

We have an on-the-ground presence in the Central Valley, the Inland Empire, and Los Angeles to deepen EnviroVoters Ed Fund’s reach and ability to realize positive change for our environmental, climate justice, public lands, conservation, and environmental justice communities throughout different regions of the state, from grassroots to grasstops.

As the climate crisis continues, EnviroVoters Ed Fund has significant work to do to accomplish our 2030 deadline to avoid the worst impacts of the climate crisis.

We are deepening our power-building efforts in the inland areas of the state and extending our reach into other inland communities. Our primary focus is on areas that have historically lacked bold climate justice leadership by their elected leaders and the environmental community, and are disproportionately devastated by climate impacts.

These regions are critical for building power. They are key to shifting the public narrative and working with leaders to create just, sustainable, and locally relevant environmental and climate policy.

EnviroVoters Ed Fund is working to build the infrastructure and power for a clean energy future and increase its capacity to serve California’s underserved regions.

EnviroVoters Ed Fund catalyzes the urgent change needed by uplifting voices in the Inland Empire and Central Valley to push for bold policy action, focused on clean energy and climate resilience and driven and shaped by its community. We believe we can advance racial justice, protect public health, and create good union jobs at the same time we build a green economy. This work will only happen from the bottom up.

We're invested in building regional power, resourcing frontline organizations, innovating bold climate justice solutions, and educating leaders to push strong action at every level.

This moment is an incredible opportunity to rebuild not only our economy but also our organizing and power building work to center justice and create long-term transformation. California’s inland communities have to be a part of any serious conversation about realizing a just climate future. When California acts, it changes global markets, creates new benchmarks nationally, and redefines what’s possible on the journey to our 2030 climate deadline.

Some of our recent accomplishments & victories:

  • We led state and regional coalition efforts to influence California Natural Resource’s 30×30 implementation scoping plan public input to ensure working and natural lands are included in our climate emissions solutions and equitable implementation of protecting 30% of California’s lands and waters by 2030.
  • We built on-the-ground support for recently passed AB 559 (Arambula), which expands the San Joaquin River Conservancy Board and provides $15 million in funding to expand access to recreational public lands.
